Crops

(2020)

In the process of deep observation, my interest in texture and tactility grew.
I started seeking more richer textured materials with led me to textiles,

This work was inspired by the crops in Boyaca - Colombia. I used jute, which is the fabric used in the sacs where they harvest potatoes and onions. I did a repetitive arc gesture simulating the constant presence of these round shapes in the crops and the way they are arranged, which I find surprisingly organized as it argues with the essence of their organic nature and disorganized way of existing.
