Indigo - Where
The Water Ends

(2020)
Handwoven linen dyed and painted
with naturally processed Indigo

Indigo is one of the processes that is more dear to me. It not only taught me about this connection with nature I have, but it was revealing in my practice because I understood the importance of giving value to the process of creating.

I found it is necessary to cancel the distraction that drags the daily life and the noise around us to create these sensorial conversations with nature and my surroundings, as it allowed me to connect more deeply and intimately with landscape mystique. Creating became a ritual, a conversation of exchanging back and forth with the material. These works are now the result of this happening.

This piece simulates the limit of water and air. A limit between two worlds, two sensations; but also an introspective moment and personal perspective.
