Shadows and Thoughts

(2022)

When I think of the landscape as human, as an anatomical body that feels and has gestures, I think of its shadows as its thoughts and feelings. They are projections in constant change, shaped by the light, the wind and their support, they are ephemeral and fleeting. I used the silhouette of the shadows as a starting point for abstract organic ceramic bodies or sculptures that during the process of creation their form was given by the movement and the language that my hands and body will give them. As my body moves it becomes the instrument through which thoughts and emotions travel.

As a result these organic sculptures inhabit a space where in its body carries the evidence of the intangible of these conversations. At the moment of the installation my own thoughts and feelings superpose with those of the landscape and create their own shadows, making more evident this eternal conversation between the two of us.
